Urban Think Tank’s book Informal City: Caracas case was the result of close observation of the heart of Caracas’barrios and concluded with tactical infrastructure projects. It is a manifesto on how architects could work in developing countries.
Brillembourg and Klumpner, studied at New York’s Columbia University, through the metro cable project demonstrated an innovative approach to urban planning. Connect directly to the Caracas public transportation this cable-car system will take people from the bottom to the top of the slums and compose of a multiuse station. The project provides the fonction of a school, a medical center and a an open space for different social activities.
